POSTED: 24 October, 2008 Footprints kill grass
Sun Peaks Golf Course superintendent Keith Lyall is pleading with residents to refrain from walking on the golf course, especially at this time of year. Lyall says when frozen grass is stepped on, it crushes the crown of each grass blade. "The crown is vital, and is where growth originates. Stepping on frozen grass literally kills it at each footstep," said Lyall Destroyed grass will need to be replaced. |
