Sold out events at 2nd annual Autumn Bounty

Hundreds of people spent the weekend at Sun Peaks Resort, sampling food and wine from the Thompson-Okanagan during the 2nd annual Autumn Bounty. The weekend at the Delta Sun Peaks Resort proved to be a huge success with several sold out events.

David Tombs, Executive Chef from the Delta Sun Peaks Resort, says he couldn't be happier with how the weekend went. "Farmers, ranchers, winemakers, artists and chefs really came together this year to create a dynamic, collaborative force that made the entire weekend a huge success."

The Winemaker and The Farmer was once again the event not to be missed. Sold out for the second year in a row, the luncheon featured exclusively organic products from organic farmer Dieter Dudy of Thistle Farm and organic winemaker Steve Dale of Rollingdale Winery.

There wasn't a ticket to be found for Saturday's Gala Dinner and Reception. This signature Autumn Bounty event encapsulated the theme of the weekend, beginning with cocktails and canapés presented among the spectacular watercolour designs from Kelowna artist Alex Fong. The 7 course menu saw regional Delta Chefs featuring products from local producers with wine strategically matched to each course.

New this year was the Friday night Chef's House Party, which proved to be a fantastic way to kick off the weekend celebrations. "With a more casual atmosphere, we opened the doors on Friday to some little known micro-wineries and scrumptious eats, which really had a strong appeal to all demographics," says Ian Thorley, Director of Sales and Marketing with the Delta Sun Peaks Resort.

Planning is already underway for next fall's Autumn Bounty event. Tombs says they will do the House Party again next year, and they are also discussing possibilities for expanding the Seafood Cooking Demo into a competition between multiple chefs where the final dishes are judged by local celebrities.
