Recuits required for cleanup

The 11th annual Sun Peaks Trash Bash will take place Tuesday May 15.

Participants will meet at the west end of Bentos at 5 p.m. for route assignments. Business owners and community residents of all ages are encouraged to join in the resort-wide spring cleanup, removing rubbish that becomes noticeable once the snow melts.

Garbage bags are provided, although people are encouraged to bring smaller grocery bags as well, and to wear gloves and boots for the gathering that each year seems to result in some lucky volunteer finding a treasure in the form of cold hard cash.

The collective garbage grab, organized by Nancy Greene, ends with a potluck supper at 7 p.m. at Bentos and leaves Sun Peaks clean and tidy, ready for summer visitors.
