| Independent Business Association takes shape SEPTEMBER 2006 — VOLUME 4 ISSUE 9 Sun Peaks small-business owners have banded together to make their voices heard. The Independent Business Association of Sun Peaks (IBA) held its inaugural meeting on Aug. 9 at Macker’s. The IBA’s main objectives are to bring Sun Peaks business owners together, to encourage tourist traffic to visit and stay in Sun Peaks, and to keep the village interesting, diversified and vibrant. The first meeting touched on a variety of issues from increasing the number of summer events to attracting visitors from the Kamloops area. Tourism Sun Peaks representative Christopher Nicolson attended the meeting as a guest speaker, and discussed how the IBA can work together with TSP to move Sun Peaks businesses forward.
